BUILD LOG

First of all, this feels like a fan project coming to life than a mass produced model kit.

On the bright side, it is because they put a lot of thoughts into the "look" and "feel" of it. The manual is packed with arts from cover to content. There is a Haman postcard inside, and even a Haman figure with the special edition. The decals are quite creative and they help make the mobile suit better over all.

On the down side, the quality is average. I had a lot of troubles with various parts as they wouldn't come together or loosing. Especially the arms. Cement is your best friend here. Don't hesitate to use it to put the parts in places or fix the problems you may have (mine was the knee).

The model kit itself is closer to FM or RE line from Bandai if you want to compare, it is definitely not RG/MG so don't get your hope up too high. It is still better than HG in term of details and mobility but that's about it. I like it. Already looking forward to Qubeley Mk. II from Yiya next.

BUILD NOTES

PROS

  • Good plastic quality. You can panel line them without worrying much, I accidentally spilled a lot on the shoulder and cleaned up in worries. You can trim the nubs easily with knife.
  • The eyes can move when you move the head. Talk about menace!
  • The decal design is a compliment to the model kit itself. Don't skip it!
  • The hands! There are also static hands to wield the beam sabers.
  • The effects might seem redundant but once you try them out, you will appreciate a lot.
  • Haman postcard!
  • Haman figure!!!

CONS

  • The gates are thick. Difficult to handle without a knife.
  • It requires efforts to put the parts together. Some of them needs force while the others ask for attention. Use cement, please, to keep your sanity intact.
  • The Qubeley decal on the shoulder should be split into four smaller parts. You should do it yourself as positioning them is quite a challenge. I damaged my red one...
  • The hands can be a chore to assemble.
  • The base is bare bone. Nothing much. Can't adjust at all.
